New production lines be approved for Long Son cement plant

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved an upgrade to the Long Son cement plant in Thanh Hoa province. The plant will have two new production lines with a total production capacity of 2.3Mt/yr, according to the Viet Nam News newspaper.

Vietnam half-year sales rise to 34.16Mt

Vietnam’s cement sales rose six per cent YoY to 34.16Mt in the first half of this year, meeting 47.4 per cent of the year’s plan, the Vietnam Building Material Association under the Ministry of Construction said. Of the volume, 25.97Mt were sold at the domestic market, up six per cent YoY and 8.19Mt were exported, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te Vietnam newspaper reported, citing the association.

Nghi Son Cement allowed to continue fly ash imports

According to Vietnam News Brief Service, deputy prime minister Hoang Trung Hai has agreed to allow Nghi Son Cement Corporation to continue the pilot import of fly ash as a raw material for its cement production.
